SYNOPSIS
In Belén, northern Argentina, Juanjis, a young gay Indigenous man, lives between the weaving traditions of his mother and the escape dreams of his friends. An encounter with la luz mala—a mythical phenomenon tied to his ancestral heritage—pushes him to pursue his dream of studying folkloric dance at an academy in Catamarca. There, he faces a racist and binary environment, challenging traditional paradigms with a form of dance that reimagines gender roles. Yet the apparitions of la luz mala persist, guiding him back to his ancestral land. In a final dance, Juanjis comes face to face with the luz mala, intertwining myth and reality as he reconciles his identity and freedom.
