Paula Martel

Paula Martel is a director, screenwriter, and producer born in Buenos Aires and raised in Catamarca, Argentina. She graduated in Film Production from ENERC and participated in the Andrés Di Tella Film Program at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.

FIRST WE TAKE ANILLACO is her debut fiction feature, currently in advanced development. The project has been selected for labs and residencies including the Co-Production Meeting at the Guadalajara Film Festival, MAFF Co-Production Market in Málaga, ÍCARO Market in Guatemala, INCAA’s Raymundo Gleyzer National Development Contest, SANFIC Lab in Chile, and CINEFILIA Lab in Colombia. It has received awards from the Latinarab Forum and two grants from the National Fund for the Arts and the MaPa Program (Argentine Independent Film Association).

She is currently producing the creative documentary BAD LIGHT, awarded at the DocuLAB of Festival de las Alturas (Jujuy), FIDBA, Asterisco, and CONECTA Chile. She is also developing A TALE OF TWO CITIES, a feature film set to shoot in 2026 in the West Bank.
